Tropical Storm Dineo had a devastating effect on a pod of 16 dolphins this morning. Members of the pod beached in front of Cashew Bay Lodge in Inhassoro in Mozambique.

Sadly, 8 of them, including two babies, did not make it. Thankfully lodge staff and crew noticed the dolphins at around 01:30 and carried them out as soon as they could. The 8 surviving dolphins were swum out, but kept on beaching because they were disorientated. Eventually after a few tries the dolphins that were saved, swam out.
