Algeria is a country situated in North Africa and it is the second largest country in the African continent.
According to New world encyclopedia, the name Algeria is derived from the name of the city of Algiers, and officially from the Arabic language word al-jazā’ir which translates as “the islands.” These islands refer to islands which lie off that city’s coast.
Algeria’s only official language is Arabic. Amazing language is still not recognized as official even though it is spoken natively by more then 35 percent of the population and is the oldest language in North Africa.
In the Tell Atlas, temperatures in summer average between 21 and 24 °C and in winter drop to 10 to 12 °C. Winters are not particularly cold, but the humidity level is high.
