Jeanette wins again

LYDENBURG – Popular local beauty, Jeanette Kruger-Hibbens has once again won the people’s choice award at this year’s Miss World International (MWI) at the historic Niagara Falls USA.
This is the second time Jeanette has nailed this prestigious title. She won the same one the first time in 2012 and has again claimed it by being voted the people’s choice for the second year running.
Steelburger/Lydenburg News caught up with Jeanette soon after the event. She told the newspaper that she didn’t even know where to begin telling how grateful she was for being blessed with the title. “First and foremost I’m giving thanks to my heavenly Father for blessing me beyond measure this past week and of course my charity Feed a Child. I have met some of the most incredible ladies and have never been showered with as much love and respect.”
She said this had been the best experience of her entire pageant career. “I am not only talking about winning, I am sharing how mazing these organisations made each of us feel.”
MWI is based on the concept originated by the acclaimed TV modelling competition “She got the Look” for females 30 years and older. MWI is about today’s woman, who is comfortable in her own shoes, the woman who knows who she is and is not defined by labels.

WMI is about celebrating the beauty, elegance and sophistication of today’s mature woman. Their mission is to promote, inspire and empower all females to develop and utilise their strengths and inner qualities.
The criteria for this competition are delegates are judged on interview, haute couture fashion wear, evening gown and fitness. The combination of all these elements along with community service makes the perfect recipe for MWI royalty.
The people’s choice, of which Jeanette is the winner, is awarded to the contestant who sells the most MWI Adopt-A-Bear charity teddy bears, combined with online votes. A minimum of 30 must be sold to qualify. Total proceeds will be donated to MWI’s charity of choice, hers being Feed a Child.
Jeanette is one of its ambassadors in Lydenburg. Its mission is to provide a nourishing meal to children from any culture or ethical group, who live below the poverty line. The organisation strives to bring hope to the children in need, by building a vision of a brighter future.
“To all the international ladies, to simply say we had fun would be an understatement. They are now my forever friends and pageant  sisters. I have never laughed so much!”
Jeanette would also like to thank all the judges at the competition. “I want to thank them for seeing my potential and for believing in me. In closing, I will strive to make all of you proud and to represent you with grace, honour and dignity.”
