Proper preparations prevent poor perfomance (ppppp

GA SELALA – Mecklenburg SAPS, Sekhukhune District Municipality, Department of Health and Social Development and local schools embarked on an outreach-dialogue programme aimed at combatting teenage pregnancy, HIV/Aids, substance abuse and other criminal activities affecting the community.

The event took place on October 2. These ambassadors were given the opportunity to address the community on issues ranging from unwanted pregnancies, abortions, rape and sexual abuse to sexually transmitted diseases.

Const Samuel Komsasa Makgopa of Mecklenburg police said, “We think adults smoking or drinking in front of children contributes to the increasing number of juveniles abusing alcohol. We believe liquor is one of the factors leading to crime. Beware, as this will deprive us of future leaders,” he warned.

The learners preparing for their final matric examination were given this message by the elders at the event, “Proper preparations prevent poor performance.”

They were made aware of the fact that the future is fragile so it was advisable for them to handle it with great care. The event was honoured by traditional healers and the elderly.
