TONGA – The station commander of Tonga, Col Velisiwe Mdaka expressed her gratitude to Langeloop residents for not taking the law into their own hands.

This came to light after they handed over a suspected armed robber to the police after they’d found him in possession of a licensed firearm belonging to a deceased person.

Lucky Msimango was arrested on February 19 after police were called by community members.

Yesterday Masimango appeared in the Tonga Magistrate’s Court where he was remanded in police custody. He is expected to make his next court appearance for a bail application on February 24.
