White River’s Child Welfare in desperate need of financial contributions from public

Child Welfare is still in desperate need of funds. According to Mr Johan Bosch, operations manager, it is not doing well and struggles to get by.

“We made contact with the Rotary Club and will have to present a proposal to them, which doesn’t cover all our costs. We still need donations or else we will have to cut back on some of our projects,” said Bosch.

Child Welfare depends on donations from the local community. This covers 17 projects which assist with the well-being of children.

They include community-based programmes for kids orphaned or made vulnerable by HIV/Aids, after-school care, early childhood development, homeless support, victim-empowerment, feeding schemes, vegetable gardens, income generation and child-headed household initiatives.

Bosch kindly asks the community to become involved and help these children. Anything from food parcels to clothing will make a difference and pro-bono contibutions by professional companies are always welcome.
