Spes-Plan and DA helps victim of crime

Spes-Plan has come to the aid of burglary victim Ms Ina Wentzel. She was brutally assaulted on March 25 after three burglars entered her home and robbed her of several items.
The security company has sponsored a panic alarm system in her home. They will also cover all the monitoring costs.
Mr Ken Robertson, DA councillor of Hazyview, initiated the idea of getting a sponsor to provide security for Wentzel.
Robertson approached Spes-Plan and asked for their help as Wentzel could not afford an alarm system. “We are indebted to Spesplan Security for their selfless approach to which they assist the community,” said Robertson. “They have a hands-on approach to fighting crime in Hazyview and fully understand the volatility of our situation. The authorities need to understand that not everyone can afford to safeguard their own premises and person against violent criminals who are persistent and relentless. There needs to be intervention via a rural safety plan so that the SAPS can assist those who cannot defend themselves.”
Mrs Wentzel has been a member of the Hazyview community since 1961 where she worked as a teacher. She is now retired.
