Husband found guilty of attacking wife with hammer

Edwin Cruywagen also known by his nickname "Crow" was found guilty of the attempted murder of his wife.

NELSPRUIT – A man who assaulted his wife so severely that she sustained serious brain damage and opted for euthanasia in Europe, has been found guilty of attempted murder.

Edwin Cruywagen also known by his nickname “Crow” appeared in the Nelspruit Regional Court today where Magistrate Ms Shelly Khumalo found him guilty of the attack on Ms Francis Hamwijk Cruywagen (53) at Gecko Bushpack Backpackers on June 21, 2011.

Khumalo then ordered Cruywagen be taken into custody until the sentencing which will be held on May 9.
