TONGA – On Tuesday April 8 Police arrested two women, Linah Mbokodo (44) and Thulisile Mlambo (42), for possession of counterfeit cigarettes.
At about 10:30 police received information that there was a certain house full of illegal cigarettes. Police acted swiftly and launched a search for the house, when police located the house they found 50 boxes of illegal cigarettes with the street value of R300 000.
The unlawful cigarettes were confiscated and the suspects arrested.
The suspects appeared before the Nkomazi magistrate’s court on the same day and were released on bail of R500 each.
The women are expected to reappear in court on April 13.
