Suspect back in court for allegedly stealing truck

Last week Thursday 30 April, Mr Simon Lucky Balepile (43) appeared in the Nkomazi Magistrate's Court in Tonga on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle.

MBUZINI – Last week Thursday 30 April, Mr Simon Lucky Balepile (43) appeared in the Nkomazi Magistrate’s Court in Tonga on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle.

His trial was postponed to May 12 pending further investigation. Balepile was found with a truck valued at R1,6 million and no valid reason or paperwork indicating that he was the owner or driver.

According to Brig. Selvy Mohlala the police in Mbuzini received information about a truck suspiciously parked between Steenbok and Goba Roads outside Mbuzini. There were triangles placed out in front and at the rear.

He said, “The police launched preliminary investigations and discovered that the truck was reportedly stolen in Nelspruit. The suspect, who was also found in possession of a delivery invoice book, was arrested and the truck seized.”

He added that it is alleged that the truck might have been hi-jacked in Ngodwana but further investigation would make that clear.
