TYE unhappy with youth chamber

The Tubatse young entrepreneurs (TYE) said they were concerned about some “power hunters” in Limpopo’s Youth Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

BURGERSFORT – The Tubatse young entrepreneurs (TYE) said they were concerned about some “power hunters” in Limpopo’s Youth Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Speaking to Steelburger/Lydenburg News, the secretary of TYE, Mr Ntsoana Mojalefa, stressed the fact that the youth chamber in the province was not running effectively. “There is a group of people who do as they please in the structure and it’s high time someone stopped this unpleasant demeanour they are inculcating in young entrepreneurs.

“Their connection with government officials doesn’t grant them the right to do as they please in the structure,” Mojalefa said.

He lambasted the organisation for the suspension of the provincial task team (PTT) secretary, Ms Fortunate Mokgehle five months ago. The newspaper learnt that she never appeared before the disciplinary committee to be charged. Currently her suspension was still pending.

Mojalefa added, “What is more embarrassing is the fact that they held a provincial conference at which they endorsed and imposed leaders, some of whom are not in the business sector nor do they own businesses. How on earth could one claim to lead people who they don’t know?” he questioned.

Mojalefa and the TYE also highlighted their displeasure at the leadership of the Limpopo Youth Chamber of Commerce.

“How can the leadership of a province be formed by people who are from one district only, while the province has five districts? Others also need to be represented in the chamber. “We want to send a clear message to these self-seeking mongers that we know they are hungry and self-centred, selfish and greedy,” he said.

He added the leaders at the youth chamber worry only about their pockets. “They never included people from Tubatse because they want to have the freedom to control the local mines. They should play their dirty games in their own yards,” he concluded.

The TYE also urged entrepreneurs in the province to work together and to oppose everything that divided them. They also encouraged the youth to participate in economic affairs in order to improve the province. The paper did not manage to get comment from the Limpopo youth chamber of commerce and industry as the telephones rang unanswered.

Meanwhile the TYE will organise a youth gathering at the Ntoampe Sports Ground in Moroke, as part of the Youth Day celebrations in Tubatse.
