Alleged rapist of 18 year old boy appears in court
A 32-year-old man of Block A appeared in the Tonga Magistrate's Court for allegedly raping an 18-year-old boy on Thursday September 4.
TONGA – A 32-year-old man of Block A appeared in the Tonga Magistrate’s Court for allegedly raping an 18-year-old boy on Thursday September 4.
The victim was at a local supermarket when the suspect, a security guard, asked the boy to accompany him to his room.
The suspect then offered the boy food and thereafter pinned him down, undressed the victim and forced himself on the boy. After raping him the suspect forced the victim to have oral sex. The boy defended himself by biting the suspect and managed to escape.
The boy reported the matter to the police and the suspect who stays at a local church was arrested by the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS). The boy has been referred to a doctor for medical attention and counselling.
The suspect has been remanded until September 10 for bail application.
