MBOMBELA – Nelspruit Primary recently became not just the only school in Mpumalanga, but also the only primary school in the country to make it through to the second round of the Woolworths and MySchool Sing. Dance. Celebrate Competition.
“We are very proud of each learner who took part and believe this will be the first of greater things,” the school said.
The competition was open to all South African children between the age of eight and 18 who attend a school registered with the MySchool, MyVillage, MyPlanet fund-raising programme.
To qualify, school singing groups or choirs had to record learners singing any song of their choice that made them want to dance and celebrate.
The recordings were uploaded onto YouTube and the entries were sent in for review.
