Burgersfort SAPS award their stakeholders with trophies

DRESDEN – Burgersfort SAPS rewarded their stakeholders and partners in fighting crime, with awards and certificates.
The ceremony was held at Papa V lodge on October 31and was attended by local pastors, members of the department of safety and security, local councillors and parents from all corners of Tubatse.
Also present were the station commander Col Rebecca Malatji and cluster commander Brig Sylvia Ledwaba. The police officers were all dressed to impress, in keeping with the dignity of the occasion.
The gongs were awarded to the members of youth against crime, pastors against crime, women against crime, victim empowerment programme and the community policing forum members.
Station commander Malatji applauded the volunteers for helping the SAPS to fight crime, “For the volunteers, there is no monthly payment. We wish we could have many more locals assisting. If you see criminal activity taking place, report them. We need the community’s cooperation to arrest the dangerous criminals, ”she pleaded.
Malatji thanked event coordinator Const Victoria Maluleka for her good relations with the stakeholders.

Dr Motlatso Phiri, who is also a pastor, was among the motivational speakers at the event. She gave tips on living a crime-free life, encouraged them to exercise and to test for diseases like HIV/Aids.
Those present shared cake after the event, which was sponsored by Pick n Pay Steelpoort, Kgapane Fruit and Veg, Mahlangu Business and George Mabuza.
