Young boy accused of raping three-year-old girl

In a shocking incident a three-year-old girl was raped by an 11-year-old boy last Sunday.

KAMHLUSHWA – In a shocking incident a three-year-old girl was raped by an 11-year-old boy last Sunday.

According to SAPS spokesman Lt Mzwandile Nyambi, the toddler’s older sister who is also a minor, discovered this when she was bathing her that evening. “The victim told her sister that her private parts were sore.

The sister asked the victim what had happened and the toddler told her what had happened.” said Nyambi.

The sister then reported the matter to their neighbour, who notified the police and a case of rape was opened.

Nyambi said, “The child was referred to a doctor and it was confirmed that indeed there had been penetration. The victim has also undergone counselling with the parents. The eleven-year-old suspect has been handed over to the police by his parents and will be referred to a probation officer since he himself is a minor.”

Lieutenant Nyambi warns parents to look after their children and always to know where they are. They must also teach their children not to play hide and seek because that is how these rapes of minors are occurring.

“Parents must report cases of rape with immediate effect as it affects the life of the victim.” said Nyambi.
