Man sentenced for three life terms in prison for killing his granny and relatives
Daniel Modipi (39) of Diphale, outside Burgersfort, shot his grandmother Ms Sinah Modipi (81) and his two aunts Lydia and Christine Modipi, (aged 60 and 71) after he accused them of witchcraft.

POLOKWANE – The man who shocked people in Tubatse by brutally killing three pensioners in the Diphale area last year, has been sentenced to three life terms in the Polokwane High Court on November 13.
Daniel Modipi (39) of Diphale, outside Burgersfort, shot his grandmother Ms Sinah Modipi (81) and his two aunts Lydia and Christine Modipi, (aged 60 and 71) after he accused them of witchcraft.
Modipi had accused the three women of witchcraft after his younger brother was found dead, hanging from a tree, in June 2013.
Mecklenburg police spokesman Const Elias Setati told Steelburger/Lydenburg News that the murder case was opened at the station in 2013, June 14. Five other family members who were accomplices on the matter were acquitted.
“This will sent a strong message to the public that crime does not pay,” Setati said.
Modipi started his sentence on November 13.
