Quadriplegic author is ready to launch his book

"I will start signing the books from 09:00 to 13:00 and everyone is welcome."

LYDENBURG – On Saturday February 28 Andries Botes, also known as Barry Botes, a quadriplegic who was shot 20 years ago and lost the total use of his limbs and torso, will visit PNA stores at the Heads Shopping Centre to sign his book, The Timbavati Secrets.

It is a unique adventure and dark comedy about a small tribe of people living in Southern Africa known as the Pedi (Bapedi) and also about mysterious events like light-aircraft crashes that occur in a small area called the Timbavati half-moon. It is a mysterious place with unusual rock formations and is part of the Kruger National Park.

The Timbavati Secrets will be available for purchase at R230 per copy. According to Botes this is an opportunity for both him and the readers to meet and interact.

“I will start signing the books from 09:00 to 13:00 and everyone is welcome.” Those who already purchased a copy which is not signed, can bring it on Saturday for me to sign,” he added.

Botes is a member of Ama Wheelies, a non-profit organisation that assists the disabled community in Mpumalanga.
