Bravery and dedication vital for dangerous work

Hi-Tech Security Nelspruit awarded their top performers for the month.

MBOMBELA – Men and women who have vowed to keep the community safe were awarded for their dedication on Friday.

At its monthly meeting, Hi-Tech Security Nelspruit recognised outstanding performances and gave feedback on the month’s matters.

“On the last Friday of every month, we gather to review the crime of the past month and to give feedback to our members,” said Hi-Tech’s marketing manager, Nicole Kerswill. “We like to reward them for their service delivery because it motivates them. This is a dangerous job and they need to hear that their work is appreciated.”

One of its members, David Sekwela, who has been with the company for 10 years, received a medal for his dedicated service to the organisation.

Medals were also handed to 15 employees who were praised for five years’ service.

Individuals who perform the best in three departments are also acknowledged every month. For February, Rassie Erasmus was crowned the best technician, Charmaine Bezuidenhout was the best control-room operator and Jan Niemand the best armed- response officer.

These three received certificates for their performances.

Two staff members completed the snake-handling course and are now registered snake handlers of Hi-Tech, bringing that number up to three. Patric Mavuso and Fanie Nortman can now catch and remove these unwanted reptiles – an initiative started by Hi-Tech a few years ago.

“We commend our brave members who deliver an excellent service to keep the community safe,” said Hi-Tech’s operational manager, Nico Grobler.
