Local sevens rugby stars, Werner Kok and Rosko Specman, have also supported this worthy cause which aims to promote unity among different nations in sport.
Xenophobic violence has been rife in Kwa-Zulu Natal and parts of Johannesburg over the past three weeks.
South African sporting bodies such as the South African Rugby Union (Saru), South African Football Association and Athletics South Africa have joined the cause.
“Rugby is not a political organisation, and we cannot solve these problems, but we can add our voice to the rest of civic South Africa who are appalled at the violence and lack of humanity that these attacks have portrayed,” said the president of Saru, Oregan Hoskins.
The public can also join in by using the hashtag #sportagainstxenophobia on social networks to show support.
