Blowout due to pothole allegedly causes accident

According to Lydenburg SAPS communication officer, Sgt Elizabeth Magoa the driver was on his way from Johannesburg to town with a load of mattresses on his trailer when the accident occurred.

LYDENBURG – Last Wednesday two people were injured in an accident after a front tyre of their light delivery van burst on the Dullstroom Road.

According to Lydenburg SAPS communication officer, Sgt Elizabeth Magoa the driver was on his way from Johannesburg to town with a load of mattresses on his trailer when the accident occurred.

“We suspect that he had hit a pothole but didn’t realise it. However, when he got to a curve in the road, he lost control of the vehicle,” she said.
