Golf crew donate to the poor
“This is a way of showing that we care for the members of the community. We want people to know that Volkswagen drivers care. There is a perception that we are rough drivers and that has to change,” they said.
RIBA CROSS – Volkswagen drivers in Tubatse have decided to improve the lives of vulnerable and needy children. This was clear when they donated food parcels to local disabled kids.
The Tubatse Golf Crew changed the lives of the kids from Lehlaba disability centre when they visited them on May 30.
The kids were astonished when they saw more than 10 Volkswagen vehicles loaded with groceries, comprising bags of mealie meal, sorghum, rice, sugar, beans, flour, tinned food, cooking oil, tea, washing powder, mayonnaise, potatoes, onions, soap, candles, matches and other items. They danced in jubilation, recited poems and ululated when they saw the parcels.
According to the founders of the crew, Mr Kagiso Mangena and Tshepo Kgwetiane, the food parcels were contributions made by members of the crew.
“This is a way of showing that we care for the members of the community. We want people to know that Volkswagen drivers care. There is a perception that we are rough drivers and that has to change,” they said.
Kgwetiane also donated R600 to revamp the Maruleng Crèche in Driekop. The crew encouraged locals to join them in their quest to improve the lives of the disadvantaged.
