MBOMBELA – The pupils of Curro Nelspruit made history last week when they hosted their first-ever culture week. They ended off the spectacular week with a prestige gala evening at the school last Tuesday.
All learners, from grade one to grade 12, were exposed to at least three different cultural categories ranging from pottery to poetry, by means of workshops.
These workshops were facilitated by more than 20 different presenters, the school said.
According to Curro, the objective of the project was not only to expose the pupils to different forms of cultural activities, but also to focus on other culture forms instead of just performing arts.
Artists like Ghost and other visual artists gave lessons on how to unlock one’s artistic potential.
The learners’ works of art were exhibited in and around the school hall for all parents to view.
Soup and bread sticks followed by strawberries and chocolates topped off the evening on a sweet note.
Various learners were awarded.
The workshops the learners completed, included the following:
• Beading
• Flower arrangements

• Pottery
• Making of music instruments
• Photography
