Two people dead in accident on Long Tom Pass

They were flung out of the car when it veered off the road into a nearby field.

LYDENBURG – Two people were killed in a horrific accident on the Long Tom Pass this morning.
Ms Lerato Juliet Theko (25) and Ms Frieda Sekhobela (51) were killed on impact when they lost control of their vehicle on a sharp turn near the Potato Seed Production Farm approximately 15 kilometres outside town.
They were flung out of the car when it veered off the road into a nearby field.
The driver, Calvin Hendry Mncwango (31) only suffered slight injuries and was taken to Lydenburg Hospital. Theko’s son Believe Theko (8), who was also in the car miraculously survived without a scratch.
