Crocodile River at an all-time low

MALALANE – The ongoing drought is taking its toll on residents and wildlife and at this stage, every drop counts.

Please do not water your gardens or wash your cars.

The Crocodile River is at an all-time low and should its level drop any further, the pumps will experience problems as they will suck up mud.

This past Sunday, River View Bend in Malalane had a day without electricity and water due to routine maintenance which had to be done.

Ms Mariette Preddy, Democratic Alliance councillor in Malalane has suggested that a special day of prayer be held for rain. According to the Weather Bureau, it is the effect of El Nino which brings severe drought in its wake.
