Having worked wonders with the sports fields at Peter Mokaba Stadium, Woodhill College and Groenkloof Sport Club in Pretoria, landscape and horticultural specialists, Bold Green, started digging their fingers into local soil on July 1.
While promoting green practices on campus, such as composting, planting of indigenous flora and recycling, correct agricultural practices on sports fields including proper aerating, scarifying, mowing as well as fertilising will be applied.
This will dramatically improve the quality of playing surfaces to bring them on par with top sports facilities in the country, according to manager Devan Visser.
“We are blessed to be able to go to school in such a wonderful environment,” says the executive head of Penryn College, Mr Chris Erasmus.
“Over the past years we have worked hard to make our campus blend into the natural beauty of the Lowveld. In line with the environmental vision of our school, we are now ready to take it to the next level, both in terms of condition and in terms of green practices.”
The school is excited to have Bold Green on board to assist in building on the vision of turning the Penryn campus into the leading green school campus in South Africa.
