Thief nailed by brave men

A thief was tackled and apprehended by his own victims on Thursday. According to Mr Jacques Meiring of Bossies Community Justice (BCJ), a young married couple and their baby were reclining on their deck in West Acres when the wife noticed something inside the house.
“When she returned to the deck she could hardly get out a single word – shock still visible on her face,” Meiring said.
“The husband turned around and noticed a shadow moving across the yard. He set off after the intruder and suspected thief and followed him down to a nearby ravine.”
Employees of the couple’s neighbour saw the commotion and ran along to try and stop the man.
The three men found the culprit as he was halfway across the ravine and tackled him into the water. With the help of the two workers they were able to subdue the suspect.
They recovered the handbag, as well as their two cellphones. They detained the man and phoned us.
When BCJ arrived, they cuffed the man and took him to the police station.
