Four people die after vehicles collide on R40

A collision between a minibus and car on the R40 resulted in four deaths.

Four people died and one was seriously injured after a minibus and car collided on the R40, outside town near Umbhaba Lodge yesterday (Sunday) around 18:00.

According to Moete Mmusi of the Department Safety, Security and Liaison, the deceased were all people travelling in the car, while the driver of the minibus, who was travelling alone, sustained serious injuries. He was treated on the scene then transported to Matikwane Hospital in Mkhuhlu for further treatment.

The cause of the accident is not known but police are investigating the incident.
