Gateway students shine at SACSSA

Taylor Iori, who always smiles on the field and track and enjoys every moment, also received an award on Saturday. This award is presented to athletes who faces certain challenges, yet excel past their limitations.

Thirty-one athletes from Gateway Christian School visited the AJ Swanepoel Stadium in Ermelo on Saturday for the Southern African Christian School’s Sports Association (SACSSA) Regional Athletics.The athletes had to run qualifying times in order to receive their SACSSA Mpumalanga Colours and to participate at the upcoming SACSSA national event which will be held on September 25 and 26 in Sasolburg.

The athletes that qualified on Saturday for colours are Chloé van Loggerenberg; Lee-Anne Kubayi; Rebecca Joubert; Ruan Jordaan; Fabian du Toit; Ryan Pieters; Renzo Iori; Sean Madondo; Jeanré van Loggerenberg; Nathi Hlophe; Rati Mathiba; Sihle Mavuso; Shaun Nkosi and Shaedlyn Bosman.
