Join the drive to turn the town pink for CANSA

The Pink Trees for Pauline project gets CANSA volunteers to wrap trees in pink material to raise awareness and funds for CANSA.

The Pink Trees for Pauline fundraising project entails trees in towns across the country being wrapped in pink cloth until the end of the month to raise awareness for cancer and show support for survivors.

A total of 244 metres of material have been sold during the past month, with 80 per cent of local proceeds going towards a CANSA fund for Hazyview. The money will be used, among others, to supplement fuel funds for patients.

Businesses and members of the public are invited to participate and buy the pink material from Christel Matthee at Tatenda Guest House. Costs are R35 per metre if you put it up yourself and R50 if CANSA does the wrapping.

The campaign runs until October 30, after which CANSA volunteers will take down the material to be washed and donated to a local charity, if the buyer agrees to it.

Enquiries: Christel Matthee on 082-418-3924 or Edna Fick on 083-626-4533.
