TONGA – Police are calling on the community to assist in apprehending the following offenders, wanted for raping several victims in this area and Naas. The first suspect is wanted for raping a 66-year-old woman on September 28 in Naas. According to the victim she was busy on her farm around 13:00 when the incident happened. She alleged that the suspect came from behind and covered her face with a sack. He threatened her with a knife and raped her after which he fled the scene on foot with a Vodafone cellphone. Meanwhile at Phiva Trust a 33-year-old complainant alleged that on December 14, 2014, at about 19:00, she received a call from a teacher of a certain school requesting her to come over. Upon her arrival the teacher explained to her that her daughter was complaining about a man who had abused her physically and sexually. The 15-year-old victim explained that she was approached on the street by the suspect, known to her, who took her to a RDP house and raped her. The victim further alleged that whenever she met the suspect, he would threaten to kill her if she were to tell anyone about the incident. The suspect is still at large, and both victims are undergoing counselling and treatment. Meanwhile police are still investigating both occurrences. Furthermore Tonga acting station commander, Col Bhutani Sibiya, appeals to the community to help with information which can lead to their arrest before they harm more people. Any leads or information should be directed to Capt Mkhatshwa on 079-501-5053. “Together in the fight against crime,” Sibiya concluded.
