Still no comment on cell reception failure

On enquiry, Vodacom said it would investigate the issue with the company's relevant department.

Do you remember the good old days, where WhatAapp messages, Facebook notifications and unnerving ringtones didn’t disturb your sleep? Vodacom members do, as they experienced it again on Saturday night when they experienced difficulties with reception for between six and eight hours.

Four community members complained that they had experienced the same issue. After this journalist took to Facebook to ask whether anyone else’s reception had been affected after 22:00, Ms Ida de Wet of West Acres replied that two of her phones had been without reception on Saturday night.

Ms Debbie Schoeler Hendriks said her phone was without signal between 23:45 on Saturday and 06:00 on Sunday morning.

Vodacom customers in the Cairn area had experienced the same.

Although an inconvenience was caused, cellphone users mentioned that the problem was resolved quickly. Nelspruit Post queried Vodacom regarding the nature of the issue and how the service provider had solved it.

On enquiry, Vodacom’s Mr Mhlengi Nzama said he would investigate the issue with the company’s relevant department. At time of going to print, no further reply had been received.
