Accident on Badplaas road claims two lives
The trailer was overloaded with groceries and other luggages.
BARBERTON – A man and an infant lost their lives when the driver of a Kombi towing a trailer lost control on the R38 Badplaas Road this morning.
The accident took place about 45 kilometres away from the Barberton turn off. According to Mr Clarence Hobbs of Barberton EMS, the trailer was overloaded with groceries and other luggage when it hit a taxi, killing two taxi passengers and injuring nine more. “The trailer was overloaded. The driver consequently lost control of it,” said Hobbs.
The EMS also called on road users to be cautious when travelling on the road.
Community safety, security and liaison spokesman, Mr Joseph Mabuza, confirmed the fatal accident.
