According to Mr Pieter du Plooy, a paramedic of Securicon Lowveld, Chance purchased the plane about four months ago.

“The aircraft was serviced by Mercy Air in Gauteng about three weeks prior to the incident and he flew it back to Low’s Creek without any hassle. The week before, he also undertook a flight to Hoedspruit without any problems,” Du Plooy said.

Chance managed to execute a safe landing, but two cars were hit in the process. Spokesman for community safety, security and liaison, Mr Joseph Mabuza, said neither the occupants in the vehicles nor Chance sustained any injuries. Spokesman for TRAC N4,

Ms Solange Soares, said traffic flow on the N4 was affected by the accident, but everything was back to normal soon after. “One lane was closed as a result but was later opened at about 18:00,” she said.
