Hoërskool Lydenburg’s grade eights ready for 2016

Learners had to make small dolls (mini bean) which they have to take to school and they also have to wear name tags around their necks.

LYDENBURG – While the grade ones were starting with “big school” last Wednesday, the 2015 grade seven classes also took the giant leap from primary to high school.

The first day of high school for Hoërskool Lydenburg’s grade eights included an orientation tradition with “mini bean” as its theme for 2016. Learners had to make small dolls (mini bean) which they have to take to school and they also have to wear name tags around their necks.

The learners were enthusiastic to make this major transition and they looked eager to start this new journey.

According to the school’s marketing and public relations manager, Ms Charlaine Joubert, the school had prepared everything for the first day of school in advance and the learners are ready for action.

“The grade eight pupils started with their academic classes on the very first day and also received their timetables and books,” she said.

“The learners are divided into seven classes (A-G) and they look forward to being the best Mpumalanga matric class in 2020.”

The grade eights will present a “mini bean” concert on Wednesday January 27.
