Frost rocks Stoep with new album

Frost has become a regular in the Lowveld and surroundings, frequently gracing the region with his electro-studded guitar.

MBOMBELA – Local rock-music lovers were fortunate to be among the first to hear songs from Albert Frost’s upcoming album at Stoep on Saturday night.

Frost performed some of the sure-to-be-hits from this 11-song album, hits the streets on April 1. “It’s not an April Fool joke,” he quipped.

Titled The Wake Up, he decided to combine a variety of songs from different genres to produce a masterpiece that would cater for all music lovers.

“It’s a studio album and I worked with a lot of musicians, which was essential as I needed a new touch to the album,” he said.

Frost has become a regular in the Lowveld and surroundings, frequently gracing the region with his electro-studded guitar.

He added that he has always been well- received by local music lovers.

His album, The Albert Frost Blues Trio Live in Grahamstown was released earlier this year and tracked the magic of his performances with Schalk Joubert and Kevin Gibson.

He has also recorded with Arno Carstens, Koos Kombuis, Chris Chameleon, The Blues Broers and many others.

He said his fans must expect to be entertained with his new offering. “I have also sampled a song called “Sugar Man” by Rodriguez. It’s a beautiful song and I believe people will love it,” he concluded.
