The community of Badfontein is outraged and threatened to kill him

LYDENBURG – Piet Makunyane, who is accused of killing his former lover’s mother, appeared in the Lydenburg Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, April 5.
The community of Badfontein is outraged and threatened to kill him.
Makunyane reportedly called the victim’s daughter and informed her that he had killed her mother and that she would be next. The body was found in the bush at 05:00 on January 20.
According to the family, the woman was on her way to work when the man allegedly strangled and then hit her with a pickaxe.
According to Mr John Mosotho, a family member, Makunyane should never be granted bail.
“He took a life and deserves to spend the rest of his life in jail,” he said. The case was postponed to May 9 for bail application.
