Party accessories worth R200 land woman in pickle

The accused, who is being charged with theft, was arrested while collecting festive supplies in a local store.

A woman from Lydenburg’s party planning turned into a nightmare when she was arrested while collecting some festival supplies in a local Shoprite store.

She was arrested for allegedly shoplifting party accessories and will appear in the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court on May 10.

On March 29 Ms Marga Nel (32) travelled to Mbombela. While in one of the city’s Shoprite stores, she was arrested for stealing a number of interesting items.

The list of alleged stolen goods included a party pack, streamers, Lovely Lollies sweets and a birthday badge.

In addition to the festive content, the loot also included two Glade air freshners, Doom, Peaceful Sleep, bleach and a packet of refuse bags. The total value of all the items was R205,39.

Nel appeared in the Nelspruit District Court on March 30 and was released on R500 bail.
