The country's unemployment rate, as measured by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development stands at 25,4 per cent, way above the average for countries measured.

Data obtained by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has shown that, according to the latest statistics available, South Africa’s unemployment rate is way above the average for countries measured.

The OECD, which aims to promote policies that will improve the economic and social well-being of people around the world, also provides a forum in which governments can work together to share experiences and seek solutions to common problems.

The organisation works with governments to understand what drives economic, social and environmental change.

South Africa’s unemployment rate, as measured by the OECD, stands at 25,4 per cent, way above the average for countries measured.

Businesstech recently reported that South Africa had the worst unemployment rate in the world – according to the IMD Global Competitiveness Report which ranked the country last out of 61 countries for its unemployment figures.
