Prepare for a joyous celebration of gospel
The internationally acclaimed gospel singer, producer and co-founder of Joyous Celebration, Past Jabu Hlongwane was in town on Monday June 27.
LYDENBURG – The internationally acclaimed gospel singer, producer and co-founder of Joyous Celebration, Past Jabu Hlongwane was in town on Monday June 27. His visit is part of the annual MTN Joyous Celebration 20 tour.
Joyous Celebration is an award-winning choir and the most well-known gospel group in the country. It was started by Hlongwane, Mthunzi Namba and Lindelani Mkhize. The group will perform in Middelburg on Friday July 1 and Saturday July 2.
The choir consists of talented gospel musicians and in the past years it has produced award-winning singers. “We are celebrating 20 years of God carrying us through ups and downs. We are standing here 20 years later and it is not because of what we can do, but what God can do through us.
“We decided to come to Mpumalanga to show people our appreciation for the support they gave us,” Hlongwane said.
During an interview with Steelburger/Lydenburg News, he said he wanted the residents to know that in life we will all succeed. “Imagine yourself as a spoon on a dining table, when a person uses a knife and fork to eat, the spoon appears to be useless but it is not.
“The moment the chef brings soup to the table, you can only use a spoon to eat soup. Find something to do while waiting and your turn to shine will come. Remember everyone is important and we all have a role to play in life,” he remarked.
