Learning-lab stars graduate

BURGERSFORT – Forty-four pupils were awarded certificates during the Siyakha Education Trust Learning Lab’s graduation on Saturday.The pupils’ successfully completed the Welcome to English leadership course. They attended 20 classes.Lerato Tjie, one of the mentors, told Steelburger/Lydenburg News that they aimed to improve the pupils’ English.

The course involved essentials of leadership, the core traits of successful leaders and many more aspects that will benefit them in future. I believe we achieved our goal as most of them can now express themselves and make good decisions,” she said.

The course commenced on May 16 and ended on June 15. According to Tjie 100 pupils enrolled for the course. “The average mark was 60 per cent. Our top student was Kholofelo Motlokwa who achieved a remarkable 91 per cent,” she added.Siyakha Education Trust Learning Lab, located in Tubatse Crossing Shopping Centre, is the education and community development initiative of Resilient Property Income Fund, the Fortress Income Fund and Lodestone REIT Limited. Siyakha, derived from Zulu, means “to build”. The learning lab offers free Internet to pupils of all ages. It also provides free courses, training and study guides.
