STEELPOORT- A man died after his car smashed into a bridge in Steelpoort on the R555 this past Saturday. According to the Burgersfort police, the accident happened at about 06:20 in the morning. The man’s VW Jetta crashed into the bridge next to Jorge’s resort . Eyewitnesses told Steelburger/Lydenburg News, the driver lost control of his car before it struck the concrete bridge.
According to the police, an investigation had been launched after the incident. The man who is believed to be in his early 30s died at the scene. The deceased was the only person in the car. The roadway was closed to traffic for roughly an hour. No other injuries were reported, the police said.
