Speedbumps cause of unrest and violence in community.

Motorists are being advised to make use of alternative routes as community members are very violent.

RIBA CROSS – Chaos and violence were the order of the day where new speed bumps were erected earlier this week.
Locals erected nine new ones on the R37. This was done by community members, as they felt that the humps that were already there were not sufficient.

There was already a hijacking where a man was shot at the speed bumps on Tuesday night.

The reason for the new humps is unknown. People are very hostile and any attempts to approach them will lead to stones being thrown at them and violent behaviour. The speed bumps are illegal and have since been removed by the SAPS and Sanral throughout the night, hence the uproar today. Motorists are advised to make use of the R555 Steelpoort Road instead. Updates to follow.
