Mastermind in cash-in-transit heists behind bars

BURGERSFORT- Limpopo police arrested a 39 years old man suspected to be the mastermind behind cash-in-transit heists.
The man was arrested in the early hours of Wednesday morning in Bothashoek just outside Burgersfort.
“The suspect is believed to have been part of a group of armed robbers who blew up the CS4 cash delivery vehicle, along the R71 road near Gravellotte, and took the money,” said Limpopo police spokesman Lt Moatshe Ngoepe.
Ngoepe told Steelburger/Lydenburg News that during the operation, they searched the suspect’s house and found the following items, R4 assault rifle, three R4 magazines, police petro barreta,a 9mm pistol with magazine and two rounds of live ammunition,105 rounds of live R4 ammunition and five cellphones.

The Limpopo police confirmed that all the suspect’s accomplices are now known to the police and will be pursued until they are all caught. The suspect will appear before the Phalaborwa Magistrate’s Court soon.
