Gymnasts look back at a good year

All competition gymnasts were dressed in their competing outfits.

Hazyview, Skukuza and Sabie gymnasts had their prize-giving at Sanbonani on November 24.

All competition gymnasts were dressed in their competing outfits and the others could wear any leotard. What’s more, every gymnast got the opportunity to show what they had learned during the year.

The following awards were given: Hazyview Gymnastics senior club champion is Richard Clarke and the junior club champion is Abigail Wallace.

Junior apparatus champions are (vault 9,00) Abigail Wallace; (beam 8,69) Abigail Wallace; (floor 9,05) Ashley Shaw; and (bar 8,86) Abigail Wallace.

Seniors apparatus champions are (U-bar 8,92) Zandri du Toit; (beam 8,50) Zandri du Toit; (floor 9,00) Richard Clarke; (vault 9,03) Zandri du Toit; (P-bar 9,00) Richard Clarke; and (H-bar 8,75) Richard Clarke.

Best level gymnasts are (level 4) Richard Clarke, (level 3) Karike Coetzee, (level 2) Ashley Shaw, (level 1) Abigail Wallace, (pre-level 3) Jayden Taljaard and Nea Ferreira, (pre-level 2) Renè Bekker and (prelevel 1) Hantenè Olivier and William Field.

Zak Price was awarded as most dedicated boy and Ashley Shaw as most dedicated girl.

Alexis Ireland is the most improved gymnast and PJ Kraft the most promising gymnast.

Ashley Shaw won the Meraki Trophy and Zandri du Toit the Faire-Un-Blue. Mpumalanga and North Zone colours were awarded to Tannur Calaca, Abigail Wallace, Alexis Ireland, Lyla Prinsloo, Nicalhe Marshall, Ashley Shaw and Karike Coetzee.

PJ Kraft, Richard Clarke and Zandri du Toit were commended for receiving Mpumalanga colours and participating in the SA Gymnastic Games.
