Ngwaabe City Motors drive into ABC League

Capricorn District's Makotopong Brazilians FC were the other team that gained qualification in the ABC Motsepe League. They came second on the log.

Ngwaabe City Motors became the first team from Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality to qualify to play in the ABC Motsepe League. The Steelpoort team topped a five-team league that included teams from the five regions of Limpopo.

The games were played at the Mangabane Sports Ground this past weekend.

City Motors started slowly, as they only managed two draws in their first matches. They came out guns blazing in their third game as they walloped Waterberg’s Terrors FC 7-0. The team in green’s final match saw them recording a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Mopani’s Makoti Happy Fighters FC to qualify.

Capricorn District’s Makotopong Brazilians FC were the other team that gained qualification in the ABC Motsepe League. They came second on the log.

Kgotholoane Masha, chairman of City Motors, thanked the supporters and the people of Sekhukhune for cheering for

the team.

We lost the playoffs last season, but we regrouped and formed a formidable team to compete anywhere in the province. We will continue flying the local flag high, and we plead for support from the local businesses in order to survive in the competitive league.

“We wish to play in the National Fist Division or the Premier Soccer League in a few years’ time.”

City Motors will join Groblersdal’s Ditlou FC, which are the other team from Sekhukhune competing in the ABC Motsepe League. The team were founded back in 1976 when they were known as Mashataung FC. Their name was changed to Ngwaabe City Motors FC in 1981. They are owned by Kgajane David Masha.
