BREAKING: Fatal crash at Mashishing bridge

LYDENBURG – A fatal accident occurred at the Mashishing bridge just before 07:00 this morning.

According to witnesses on scene, a white VW Polo was speeding down Voortrekkers Street when it first crashed into a red Datsun before colliding with the bridge’s steel pillar.

Two of the three occupants in the Polo sustained injuries and was taken to Lydenburg Hospital. The third, however, died on impact.

According to Deon Broekman, hazmat operator, the cause of the accident is on account of severe speed.

The road has been closed for accident photos and a police report.

Rapid Response, traffic and the SAPS is still on scene.
