Locals in this area have applauded the peanut butter made by Elvin Mogaila and his business partner Memory Mutunhodzi. It is delicious and smooth. A crunchy version is also available.
The peanut butter is the talk of the town. “I have recently ordered a one kilogram container and my family loves it, I prefer it smooth. My children like it with their sandwiches,” said resident and customer, Phildah Matseba.

Mogaila told Steelburger/Lydenburg News that they acquired a small grinding machine to run their business.
“We don’t add much ingredients. We bake our nuts and thereafter place them in the grinding machine for a few minutes. We produce a natural peanut butter with 100 per cent peanuts and no additives, preservatives or sugar. Customers can choose if they prefer it smooth or crunchy.”
He said their small machine manages to produce about 20 litres of peanut butter a day. “We are in need of funds to buy a bigger machine. We get lots of orders and our small machine can’t’cope.”

Mutonhodzi added that they are planning to grow their business. “In future, we are planning to do business with local retailers. We are on the verge of registering the business and to also give it a good name. We also aim to ensure it adheres to the selling standards.”
The product is selling at R70 per kilogram, the 500 grams cost only R35.
The two business partners are in need of a small space in which they can run their business.
The two manufacturers said they buy their nuts from local retailers. They appealed to nut suppliers and farmers to contact them. “We sometimes run out of nuts and we can prefer a trusted supplier.”
To improve their product, they are planning to manufacture the peanut butter with a variety of flavours such as cinnamon, raisin and honey. Those interested in ordering peanut butter can contact them on 083-241-6557 or 079 211 6317.
