“We are still grappling with a socioeconomic environment where too few people work and the quality of schools, especially in black communities, are still poor.
“The public health system cannot meet the demands and sustain quality and the provision of basic services is uneven and of poor quality in some areas, corruption levels are still too high and access to opportunity is still divided.” Mrs Shiba ended.
Mpumalaga Premier, Refilwe Mtshweni promised the Nkomazi people that developments are around the corner.
“Taking note that in all the other municipalities, communities are crying for almost the same things. We have 20 projects that we are busy with here in Nkomazi. Once we are done with the projects, we plead with you as communities to take care of the projects and not vandalize or steal.
“We are targeting 15 schools to remove the pit toilets and put in flushing toilets to prevent kids from drowning in the pit toilets. We also understand that there are not enough 24-hour clinics in Nkomazi, but we will look at our budgets and do our best in increasing those clinics. We have also initiated the chronic disease centres to distribute medicine for the old people who stay forever in the clinics for medicine.”

She added Mtshweni continued saying they have built houses in Nkomazi and will continue to build more.
“Those in need of houses must go to the municipality and register. We thank the Ngomane chieftaincy for giving us land to build the SEZ. We will build houses and a clinic to make sure that it becomes a proper place for those working there, as it will provide 10 job opportunities for Nkomazi people,” she concluded.
