Motorbikes in the mountains

"We don't search for the route, we follow the mountains"

The Croc River Mountain Conservancy hosted the second Motorbikes in the mountains event on farms in the Mara/Boulders area last weekend.

This year 158 riders entered the race. No casualties were reported. Corridor spoke to some of the riders at the end and all agreed that it was a challenging but beautiful route.

The route was 45km through the farms in the area. This race was open for bikes, Quad bikes and Rhino side by side cars. Camping facilities was available and food and drinks was sold at the start and end.

The money raised will go towards the upgrade of the two gates at the entrance of this conservancy area. These gates were built to try and limit poaching. Everybody entering this area sign in and out at the gates.

The organisers want to thank all who participated in the race, the people manning the watering points on all the sponsors that made this day one to remember.

“We don’t search for the route; we follow the mountains and are looking forward to see everyone at next year’s race”
