Eskom; Load shedding could occur on “short notice”
This means that Eskom is currently relying on emergency power generation.

LYDENBURG – The struggling power utility issued a statement on Tuesday in which it stated that the “unexpected loss of additional units may result in load shedding at short notice”.
Eskom said that the electricity system is “severely constraint” and that it will remain so until Thursday. This is apparently on account of generation unit losses experienced over the weekend.
The power giant has now been forced to go the expensive route of using water and diesel due to the breakdown of some units.
The breakdowns over the weekend took about 9 500MW of power out of its system. This means that Eskom is currently relying on emergency power generation.
This is a developing story and updates will be made available as information becomes available.
